BigLift Shipping marks major milestone with launch of first BC-Class newbuild

BigLift Shipping is proud to announce an important milestone in our fleet expansion program. On Sunday, 15 February, the first vessel in our series of four newbuild BC-Class module carriers, the CY Frontier, was successfully launched. Following the launch, the vessel will be transferred to the outfitting quay for final completion and commissioning.

The second vessel in the series, m/v BigLift Pioneer, is expected to enter service towards the end of the year. With the addition of these new vessels, BigLift will operate six heavy transport vessels (HTVs) by the end of 2026. This expansion significantly strengthens our capacity to support complex heavy lift and transport projects worldwide.

The BC-Class vessels are purpose-built for performance and flexibility. Each vessel measures 180 meters in length with a beam of 43 meters. The spacious deck area of 43 by 140 meters offers a fully unobstructed cargo space of 6,020 m². Cargo can be loaded and discharged over the stern or side using ro-ro or skidding methods.

With a depth of 12 meters, a deadweight capacity of 25,000 metric tons, and a powerful ballast system capable of 12,000 m³ per hour, the BC-Class is designed to deliver robust and reliable performance for the most demanding projects.

This milestone reflects our continued commitment to innovation, reliability, and delivering exceptional service to our clients worldwide.
